Philipp Englin joined World Steel Dynamics in 2008 and has been developing the WSD Global Steel Information System – a suite of strategic information tools aimed at capturing and modeling key aspects of the global steel industry. Phillip is also the point man on WSD’s consulting work. Philipp’s introduction to the steel industry came as a member of Emerson Electric’s steel procurement team where he was responsible for closely tracking global market developments. Mr. Englin holds bachelors degrees in mechanical engineering & philosophy from Carnegie Mellon University and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh.

After an initial stint with Inland Steel, John has spent more than 30 years as a senior advisor to global metals and mining executives and as an industry consulting practice leader at Accenture, Arthur D Little, and Beddows & Co. In addition to North America and Europe, John has worked extensively with clients in India, Brazil, Russia and China – where he lived for two years. While John’s specific expertise is in strategy, organization and business transformation, he has also managed numerous teams that delivered client value in the areas of supply chain and manufacturing optimization, systems and digital enablement and business process outsourcing.

Colin joined Argus Media in July 2018, shortly after which he launched coverage of the US and European steel markets. He has been instrumental in Argus’ success in the steel sector since, helping it gain traction in both the physical and futures markets. Previously, Colin headed up European steel and scrap coverage for S&P Global Platts, where he oversaw a number of IOSCO benchmarks. He has been covering the steel sector since joining Steel Business Briefing in 2008.

Nicole Voigt is Managing Director and Partner at the Boston Consulting Group in Germany. She has over 15 years of experience as a consultant and is a core member of the Industrial Goods Practice at BCG. She is leading BCG’s global metals sector and focuses on sustainability and circular topics as well as on operational excellence. She supports steel manufacturers in their CO2 footprint optimization and is author of several reports on this topic.

Jeremy Leonard is responsible for overseeing the work of the industry forecasting team and managing the operation and output of Oxford Economics’ Global Industry Model as well as related consultancy work.
